How is this done?

The man in the tuxedo adjusts his bow tie and tips his top hat to the audience, fifty feet below him. He steps into the empty air. A silver rope tied to the tumbler's ankle jerks taut, arresting his fall. Something tiny falls from his pocket. You catch it as it floats down near you. The crowd watches in silence as his swings diminish to nothing. He is suspended, unmoving, with one ankle tucked behind a knee. The hanging man. Slowly, he starts to spin. A hundred eyes gaze up, rapt, at the spinning man. The crowd is tense. How can he spin at such speed? You seek out wires, pulleys, machines. You see none. How can this be?
