This tent is mostly black on the outside. Fanciful patches of white float on the topmost canvas, and young assistants hand out umbrellas at the door.

A canopy of stars

It's raining softly inside the Weather Tent, so you open your umbrella. From the outside, it's simple black silk, but when you raise it over your head and look up, it becomes transparent. Soft rain is pattering on the fabric, but the sky above you is divided. One quadrant shows dry stars, one rain at dawn, one shows a sunset, one contains a storm. As you twirl the umbrella, the weather above you changes. Rain falls harder, then dries up. Thunder rumbles, but a quarter-turn later, you can feel the red heat of the sun on your face. You start to perambulate. The tent is full of people, gazing up through their umbrellas, pointing and gasping at foreign skies and closing their eyes under alien suns. You make the lightning flash above you, then twirl for snow. You pass a lady suffering from heatstroke, and another who shivers as her companion wraps her in furs. It is best not to stay too long in this tent.
